Small Mercies

Three bio-synthetic androids pause to drink water as part of their normal function. Wanting to belong, a newer mechanical robot imitates them, only to suffer a catastrophic system failure. After a diagnostic upgrade reveals the truth about his own design, he discovers that difference is not a flaw, but a purpose.
